Business-improvement grants, volunteer appointments and a Second Street development were the principal voted items.
What was discussed
Following mayoral and liaison reports, staff reviewed snow and ice operations and the large consent agenda. Council separately debated exterior-improvement support for Matchmaker Bookshop and CRG Ravinia, including fairness, available funding and commitments to future work. The bookshop grant passed unanimously; the paired CRG-related items passed 4–3.
Council approved development actions for 1632, 1640 and 1646 Second Street after discussing trees, construction traffic, design and inclusionary housing. Staff explained that a construction and traffic-management plan must be approved before permits and construction. The three related actions passed 7–0. A minor planned-development amendment on Sheridan Road also passed 7–0.
